Join an inclusive bowling league specifically for adults (16+) with additional support needs (Including individuals who are neurodiverse, have learning disabilities, are physically disabled, and have mental health barriers).
The league is made up of various teams from local organisations from Dundee and surrounding areas. We play once a month, with scores adding up over the year! This is fun opportunity to meet others and for different services to connect. We will have an annual awards ceremony to celebrate everyone, with specials awards!
Once a month, all teams will get together at Tenpin Dundee (Kingsway Retail Park), and play 2 games of bowling. Teams will have 3-5 players per game, and individuals will be in mixed lanes. This is to encourage meeting new people. Scores from each person from both games will be added to their teams overall score. The more people you have playing on the day, the more chance of higher scores.
At the end of the league year (October 2025), we will have an awards ceremony. Cost per game per person is £5.50. This can be pain on the day, cash or card to Uppertunity.
See dates for league games here. League games take place on Fridays.
You need to be part of a team to join the league. You can either create your own team, or ask the organisation you receive support from to start a team. Teams should have between 5-10 players. This is to make sure there are enough players to play on league days. No more than 5 people can play on league days.
All teams must be registered with Uppertunity, so that we can record your scores. You can only be apart of 1 team - choose wisely! Uppertunity will have a separate team as well. Get in touch if you would like to join.
We will meet at Tenpin Bowling (Kingsway Retail Park) at 10am and bowling starts at 10.15am. Teams must let Uppertunity know who is taking part in the game on the Wednesday before the league game. We are going to mix up the teams for playing to allow everyone to socialise and meet new people. When we know what team members are playing from each organisation, we will randomly select which lanes each person will be playing in.
There is also the opportunity to have lunch at Tenpin. Each person would order and pay for this individually on the day. Support workers will not be playing any bowling games on the day but can help facilitate the games and encourage team members.
At the end of each game, Uppertunity will collect all of the game details and record everyone's points on a spreadsheet. The points for each team will be published on Uppertunity's website, for everyone to keep track of. Everyone will have their own individual points from games, which will be added together show your teams total score.
As the lanes will be mixed with people from different teams, whoever wins the game on each lane will get an additional 10 points to add to their team total.
At the end of the league year (October 2025), we will hold an ‘Awards Ceremony’, where all teams and players will be invited to. We will have the following awards to give out:
