Join an inclusive bowling league specifically for adults (16+) with additional support needs (Including individuals who are neurodiverse, have learning disabilities, are physically disabled, and have mental health barriers).
The league is made up of various teams from local organisations from Dundee and surrounding areas. We play once a month, with scores adding up over the year! This is fun opportunity to meet others and for different services to connect. We will have an annual awards ceremony to celebrate everyone, with specials awards!
Once a month, all teams will get together at Tenpin Dundee (Kingsway Retail Park), and play 2 games of bowling. Teams will have 3-5 players per game. Scores from each person from both games will be added to their teams overall score.
At the end of the league year (Start of November 2025), we will have an awards ceremony. Cost per game per person is £5.50. This can be paid on the day, cash or card, to Uppertunity.
See dates for league games here. League games take place on Fridays.
You need to be part of a team to join the league. You can either create your own team, or ask the organisation you receive support from to start a team. Or you can join a team at Uppertunity. Teams can have more than 5 players, but no more than 5 people can play on league days.
All teams must be registered with Uppertunity, so that we can record your scores. You can only be part of 1 team - choose wisely!
- We will meet at Tenpin Bowling (Kingsway Retail Park) at 10am, and bowling starts as soon as all teams arrive and are registered.
- Each person will play 2 games. For the first round, teams will be playing together in their original teams. For the second round, we will be mixing team players into different groups. This gives an opportunity to meet new people. The winner of the second round will also score an additional 50 points for their team.
- Entry for each person is £5.50, and this can be paid by cash or card on the day. Uppertunity has prebooked lanes for each month.
- Uppertunity staff will be available on the day to manage the rounds and scores. We ask other support staff or carers to assist their team members when needed. We also ask all everyone to be encouraging and supportive of everyone else. It is about joining together and having fun together.
- Uppertunity staff will be recording points for each player, which will be added to the overall team's score. We will also record highest scores in the groups for the second round, and any strikes achieved in both rounds. All of this will be added to our online scoreboard (uppertunity.org.uk/score-board), which will be updated each month.
- We will have boards available on the day for you to share any events your organisation has coming up. We plan to then share this on our social media platforms. If you know of any events or activities that you would like to share, please bring the details along and we will be more than happy to share this.
- Members are more than welcome to stay for lunch at Tenpin Bowling after the games finish.
At the end of each game, Uppertunity will collect all of the game details and record everyone's points. These points will be added to the leader board.
- We will add each players individual scores for both rounds to their team
- For round 2, when groups are mixed, the winner of that round will receive an extra 50 points for their home team
- Each player who makes a strike will receive 25 points for their home team
- For teams that only have 3 or 4 players on the day, we will work out the average score of each player and add that score for the 4th or 5th positions. This is to make it fair for teams that have 5 players.
At the end of the league year (October 2025), we will hold an ‘Awards Ceremony’, where all teams and players will be invited to. We will have the following awards to give out:
