The wellbeing and safety of our clients is of utmost importance to us. We aim to create a space that is safe and inviting for our clients to develop themselves, as well as a space to ask for help if needed.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients, we have put a number of measures in place at Uppertunity
We want to know how you're feeling! To do this we have an emotional wellbeing board for both our staff and members.
When you arrive at the start of a group, you will be asked to put your name at what colour you feel best represents your mood!
This lets us know how you feel and if there's anything we can do to help.
If you want to talk to a staff member in private, you can take a gold card to one of us to let us know!
We keep in contact with carers and support staff. This lets us pass on any concerns we or you may have, big or small.
We also have a set of guidelines for carers to follow while in group with their client. This is to encourage members to engage with the activities and feel safe on our premises.
We have all done a lot of training! Our staff have taken and passed Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Mental Health Awareness and Learning Disability Awareness Training. All staff complete regular CBD training.
We have procedures in place to assure the safety of our clients, that all our staff are trained on. All staff sign a safeguarding declaration, and all of our staff are PVG checked.
All our staff receive regular supervision to discuss any worries and issues that may be present on either side. This allows us to catch issues early. Our manager, Danielle, received formal supervision from a trained therapist every month as well.
Keeping the team looked after means we can provide a better service and a positive experience!
Having difficult conversations is stressful, but our team receives support on how to have them, so you can feel safe bringing issues to us.
We have Employers and Public Liability Insurance.
This offers us cover in case any accident occurs on our premises.
