We are looking for creative artists who would like to volunteer their time to create a story board and short animation about Uppertunity, helping to explain what we do and the difference we make.
Project name: Uppertunity’s Story
About our organisation: Uppertunity is a charity based in Dundee focused on empowering our community. Our mission is to empower individuals in our community to lead fuller lives. We create safe and reflective environments where individuals feel comfortable to explore their capabilities, challenge themselves, and develop transferable life skills. We work with individuals (16 years and over) with additional needs, learning disabilities, autism and mental health barriers. We provide a range of inclusive activities to nurture personal development, confidence, social interaction, and employability.
What do we need? We need a creative but simple way to tell out story to a range of audiences, as well as show the impact we have without revealing identities. Many of our clients share positive feedback on the difference we’ve had on their lives, but may not want their face or name included due to personal reasons. We also want to use this video and visual story board to share our impact with current and future funders, to keep doing what we’re doing, and hopefully do more.
Our vision for the project: The story board should be colourful, using a mixture of symbols, pictures and words to explain what we do, how we do it, who we work with and the difference we make. Maybe even something like ‘A day at Uppertunity’. The video should be similar, but in animation form with visual and audio words. The video should be accessible to all. We imagine cartoon figures to represent our team, volunteers and members, to ensure we capture everyone’s voice, but not reveal identities. Video to be able to be used on our website, and social media platforms. The story board will be printed, as well as be made on our website, where users can zoom in and out.
Video length: Under 5 minutes.
